Pemberdayaan Ibu dan Remaja Putri dalam Mengelola Sampah Rumah Tangga
Housewives and Girls Empowerment in Household Waste Management

The coverage of the availability of waste disposal facilities in Labuan Panimba Village only reaches 28%. The household waste is disposed of on the ground and there is never any transportation. The purpose of the activity was to increase public knowledge about household waste management, the community can recycle by making compost and trash cans. The target of the activity was 10 housewives and 10 girls who were given education on waste management as well as training in making compost and trash cans from bottle caps. The education materials were videos and posters, while the training used materials for making compost and trash cans from plastic bottles. Evaluation of activities carried out by measuring knowledge and attitudes before and after counseling using a questionnaire. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that there were differences in the knowledge of mothers and girls about waste management before and after counseling (α = 0.05, p-value= 0.015). Observations were made again to determine the success of making compost and trash cans. The results of activities were that mothers and girls have better knowledge about household waste management, as well as skills in making compost and recycled mineral water bottle caps in the form of trash cans and shopping bags.
Abstrak
Cakupan ketersediaan sarana pembuangan sampah di Desa Labuan Panimba hanya mencapai 28%. Sampah rumah tangga yang dihasilkan dibuang ke permukaan tanah dan tidak pernah ada pengangkutan. Tujuan kegiatan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, masyarakat mampu mendaur ulang dengan cara membuat kompos dan tong sampah. Sasaran kegiatan 10 ibu rumah tangga dan 10 remaja putri yang diberikan penyuluhan tentang pengelolaan sampah serta pelatihan pembuatan kompos dan tong sampah dari tutup botol kemasan. Bahan penyuluhan adalah video dan poster sedangkan pelatihan menggunakan bahan pembuatan kompos dan tong sampah dari botol plastik kemasan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan mengukur pengetahuan dan sikap sebelum dan setelah penyuluhan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan ibu dan remaja putri tentang pengelolaan sampah sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan (α=0,05, p-value=0,015. Observasi kembali dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan pembuatan kompos dan tong sampah. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah para ibu dan remaja putri memiliki pengetahuan yang lebih baik tentang pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, serta keterampilan membuat kompos dan barang hasil daur ulang tutup botol air mineral berupa tong sampah dan tas belanja.
