Pendahuluan: Masa remaja merupakan periode rentan terhadap masalah kejiwaan, seperti stres dan kecemasan. Data menunjukkan Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah menempati peringkat kedua (11,6%) untuk kategori gangguan mental emosional pada remaja di atas 15 tahun dengan gejala kecemasan atau depresi. Berdasarkan kondisi ini, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan melalui edukasi kesehatan mental dan melakukan deteksi dini terhadap kesehatan mental remaja di SMA Negeri 3 Palu.
Tujuan: Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan mental dan melakukan deteksi dini masalah kesehatan mental pada remaja di SMA Negeri 3 Palu.
Metode: Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 6 Mei 2024 dengan metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi, serta demonstrasi dan praktik. Partisipan berjumlah 40 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk deteksi dini adalah kuesioner Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9).
Hasil: Hasil deteksi dini menunjukkan bahwa 46,6% partisipan (18 siswa) tidak mengalami gejala depresi, sedangkan 53,4% partisipan (21 siswa) mengalami gejala depresi ringan. Edukasi berjalan lancar dengan tingkat partisipasi yang tinggi dari siswa.
Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran peserta akan pentingnya kesehatan mental. Temuan deteksi dini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun dalam kategori ringan, lebih dari separuh partisipan menunjukkan gejala depresi. Hal ini menekankan perlunya program kesehatan mental berkelanjutan dan intervensi lebih lanjut di sekolah. Kegiatan serupa diharapkan dapat menjadi stimulus bagi sekolah untuk mengintegrasikan kesehatan mental ke dalam program sekolah.
