Author Guidelines

1. General Information

*Salando Health Journal* is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles covering the fields of Nursing, Midwifery, Environmental Health, Nutrition, Public Health, Reproductive Health, and Health Education and Promotion.

Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English.

Manuscripts must be original, previously unpublished, and not currently under consideration elsewhere.

All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and must adhere to publication ethics standards.

2. Manuscript Preparation
2.1. Formatting Requirements
File format: MS Word (.docx)

Length: 5,000–7,000 words (including tables and references)

Font: Cambria, 11 pt

Spacing: Single spacing

Paper size: A4, 2.5 cm margins

Layout: Single-column format

2.2. Manuscript Structure and Content
Title

Maximum of 15 words.

Avoid including the study year, abbreviations, or formulas.

Must reflect the main focus of the research.

Author Names and Affiliations

Include full names (without academic titles).

Include institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, country).

Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and include their email address.

Abstract (150–250 words)

Structured into sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

State the background, objectives, methods, key findings, and main conclusions.

Written as a single paragraph without citations.

Keywords

Include 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons.

Use standard or indexed terms (e.g., MeSH).

Introduction

Present the background and significance of the problem. Summarize related research to highlight knowledge gaps.

Clearly state the research objective. Methods

Describe the research design, population, study location, sampling method, and inclusion/exclusion criteria.

Describe the instruments, data collection, and measured variables.

Mention ethical approval and informed consent.

Describe the statistical analysis used.

Results

Present findings logically and clearly.

Use tables and figures (must be cited in the text).

Present descriptive and inferential statistics where relevant. Discussion

Interpret findings in relation to previous research.

Explain implications for practice, theory, or policy.

Highlight the study's strengths and limitations.

Suggest directions for future research.

Conclusion

Summarize key findings without repetitive detail. Emphasize the study's contributions and implications.

Author Contribution Statement

Describe each author's role (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing).

Use the CRediT taxonomy if possible.

Conflict of Interest

Declare any potential conflicts (financial, institutional, or personal).

If none: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."

Funding Statement

Mention funding sources and grant numbers (if applicable).

If none: "This research received no external funding."

Acknowledgments (if applicable)

Mention individuals or institutions that contributed but did not meet authorship criteria.

Examples: technical assistance, administrative support, language editing.

References

Minimum of 25 references, with at least 85% from journal articles published within the last 10 years.

Use APA 6th Edition referencing style.

Use reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero). 3. Tables and Figures

Number tables and figures sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.). Include clear titles and captions (legends).

Include these elements within the manuscript itself, rather than as separate files.

4. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human subjects must include ethical approval and informed consent.

Authors must ensure participant confidentiality and respect.

5. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted via the *Banua: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan* Online Journal System (OJS).

The corresponding author must ensure that all authors have approved the final manuscript.

6. Review and Publication

Manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

The editorial board may make minor adjustments for clarity and consistency.

Accepted articles will be published according to the editorial schedule.

7. Author Statement

By submitting a manuscript to *Salando Health Journal*, authors declare that:

The manuscript is original and has not been published previously.

All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research. Ethical standards and research integrity have been upheld.
